“While Residing in Edgefield District, he enlisted and served in Capt. Michael Watson’s Volunteer
Company on Horseback. Thereafter, he served three years in the Fourth Regiment and was at
sometime under Gen. Pickens. He was in the battle of Eutaw Springs, but generally was out scouting
between the Augusta and Congaree Rivers. (Moved to Alabama)”.
